De Watergroep installs new outdoor water points across flanders

De Watergroep is installing around 100 outdoor water points along cycling and walking routes, playgrounds, sports fields, and parks. The city of Peer had the honor of being the first to use an outdoor water point from De Watergroep.

Tap water is becoming increasingly popular, and rightly so. The demand for tap water in public spaces is growing rapidly. Especially with these summer temperatures, it's important to drink enough.

De Watergroep, the supplier of reliable drinking water to 3.3 million customers and businesses in Flanders, will install outdoor water points, in consultation with cities and municipalities, along cycling and walking routes, playgrounds, sports fields, and parks. In total, about 100 new outdoor water points will be installed in De Watergroep’s service area.

De Watergroep chose our ALASQ outdoor water point for its design, robustness, and hygiene features. The innovative development and production in Belgium are, of course, key factors as well.

Brigitte Van Damme, local spokesperson for De Watergroep: "With these outdoor water points, we offer passersby the opportunity to refill their water bottles for free with fresh, locally produced drinking water. It’s not only an easy and healthy thirst quencher, but also an important step toward a more sustainable society. By choosing tap water and using reusable water bottles, a significant amount of CO2 is saved."
