Kris Martin - Untitled 12

With his sculptures, drawings, photographs, performances and interventions, Kris Martin (°1972, Kortrijk) plays with notions of history and time. By transforming found objects, adding something to them or taking something away from them, he creates new meanings and raises questions about life and transience. In doing so, he often recreates archetypal objects, works of art from the canon or refers to literature. Martin's practice is rooted within conceptual art but is at once aesthetic, poetic and contemplative.

These romantic drawings of flowers also become impermanent on the drawing paper by being soaked in water.
