Mohammed Alani

Mohammed Alani (b. 1971 Baghdad/Iraq) lives and works in Brussels. Mohammed searches for the past, for history, for testimonies of a custom. With his trained eye, he tracks down objects that have lived a life and gives them a new future. He starts manipulating them, bringing them together, distorting and arranging them until they acquire a new meaning far from their original function. With his surrealist eye, he brings difficult themes to life with a wink, you can appreciate them for their aesthetics but somewhere there is always a possible interpretation hiding. Here we bring together works that highlight, among other things, the theme of being on the road.
