Practical and Smart!
Previously, the school used traditional stainless steel drinking fountains, but these presented some challenges. "With the old fountains, it wasn't possible to place a bottle underneath," Desmet explains. "Additionally, hygiene was often not guaranteed, as many students would place their mouths directly on the tap. Moreover, the fountains were turned off in winter and were often forgotten when it was time to reactivate them in spring."
That’s why the school decided to install two ALASQ Muro units at different heights. This way, children of all sizes can easily refill their water bottles—handy and convenient!
Always a Bottle Within Reach
The water bottles accompany students not only to class but also during lunch breaks. "Each class has a Curver box where children can safely store their bottles, so they don’t have to carry them while playing outside," Desmet explains. Each student has their own bottle, neatly stored in racks in the hallways. When they’re thirsty, they grab their bottle, refill it, and place it back in the box.
A Familiar Choice
The ALASQ Muro has now become a familiar fixture for the children. Many of them recognize the unit from the De Gavers recreational park. So, introducing the ALASQ Muro is not just an environmentally friendly step but also a trusted choice for many students.
By implementing the ALASQ Muro, PIUS X Kortrijk continues to commit to sustainability and promoting health among its students.
